Welcome back to the eighth day of BOOKMAS! Today I’m going through some of my most anticipated released of 2017. Comment below what book you’re looking forward to next year.
A Court of Wings and Ruin – Sarah J. Maas
Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin’s maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit-and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well.
As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords-and hunt for allies in unexpected places.
The third and final book in the A Court of Thorns and Roses trilogy. Even though I didn’t love ACOMAF as much as ACOTAR, I still cannot wait to see what happens in this final book. Hopefully more TAMLIN!
Always and Forever, Lara Jean – Jenny Han
Lara Jean is having the best senior year a girl could ever hope for. She is head over heels in love with her boyfriend, Peter; her dad’s finally getting remarried to their next door neighbor, Ms. Rothschild; and Margot’s coming home for the summer just in time for the wedding.
But change is looming on the horizon. And while Lara Jean is having fun and keeping busy helping plan her father’s wedding, she can’t ignore the big life decisions she has to make. Most pressingly, where she wants to go to college and what that means for her relationship with Peter. She watched her sister Margot go through these growing pains. Now Lara Jean’s the one who’ll be graduating high school and leaving for college and leaving her family—and possibly the boy she loves—behind.
This is honestly the book that I am looking forward to the most next year! I loved the first two books in this trilogy and they’re two of my favourite books in the world, and Peter Kavinsky is my number 1 book boyfriend. I don’t want their story to end but I can’t wait to see how it does.
Begin, End, Begin – Danielle Binks
The YA event of the year. Bestsellers. Award-winners. Superstars. This anthology has them all. With brilliantly entertaining short stories from beloved young adult authors Amie Kaufman, Melissa Keil, Will Kostakis, Ellie Marney, Jaclyn Moriarty, Michael Pryor, Alice Pung, Gabrielle Tozer, Lili Wilkinson and Danielle Binks, this all-new collection will show the world exactly how much there is to love about Aussie YA.
I’m all for supporting Australian YA authors, and I’m always looking for more to read. This anthology sounds so amazing and seems like a good way to discover new Australian authors. I can’t wait!!!
Because You Have to Love Me – Ameriie
This unique YA anthology presents classic and original fairy tales from the villain’s point of view. The book’s unconventional structure–thirteen of the most influential BookTubers on YouTube join forces (writing-prompt style) with thirteen acclaimed and bestselling authors–gives these mysterious, oft-misunderstood individuals characters a chance to tell their stories, their way.
Like Maleficent or Wicked, these are stories of vengeance, of defiance, of rage. They are stories of pain, of heartbreak, of sorrow. But don’t expect a circle of hands. Leave it to the heroes to help the world; villains just want to rule the world. We love to hate them and they hate to be loved, if only because being hated frees them from having to be good.
Another amazing anthology which is so unique and different to anything that I have heard about before. I love booktubers and I love authors, so the fact that they are pairing up together to present this amazing book of short stories is so exciting. I can’t wait!
A Quiet Kind of Thunder – Sara Barnard
Steffi has been a selective mute for most of her life – she’s been silent for so long that she feels completely invisible. But Rhys, the new boy at school, sees her. He’s deaf, and her knowledge of basic sign language means that she’s assigned to look after him. To Rhys, it doesn’t matter that Steffi doesn’t talk, and as they find ways to communicate, Steffi finds that she does have a voice, and that she’s falling in love with the one person who makes her feel brave enough to use it.
I actually already own an arc of this book because I am doing a blog tour for Pan Macmillan (up January 7). The synopsis sounds so interesting and I keep pushing it forward on my TBR because I can’t wait to red it.
Wayfarer – Alexandra Bracken
All Etta Spencer wanted was to make her violin debut when she was thrust into a treacherous world where the struggle for power could alter history. After losing the one thing that would have allowed her to protect the Timeline, and the one person worth fighting for, Etta awakens alone in an unknown place and time, exposed to the threat of the two groups who would rather see her dead than succeed. When help arrives, it comes from the last person Etta ever expected—Julian Ironwood, the Grand Master’s heir who has long been presumed dead, and whose dangerous alliance with a man from Etta’s past could put them both at risk.
Meanwhile, Nicholas and Sophia are racing through time in order to locate Etta and the missing astrolabe with Ironwood travelers hot on their trail. They cross paths with a mercenary-for-hire, a cheeky girl named Li Min who quickly develops a flirtation with Sophia. But as the three of them attempt to evade their pursuers, Nicholas soon realizes that one of his companions may have ulterior motives.
As Etta and Nicholas fight to make their way back to one another, from Imperial Russia to the Vatican catacombs, time is rapidly shifting and changing into something unrecognizable… and might just run out on both of them.
Even though Passenger isn’t my favourite book of all time, I still want to read this second book. The first one ends on a cliff hanger and I have so many unanswered question and I’m excited to see where this book will lead the characters.
History Is All You Left Me – Adam Silvera
When Griffin’s first love and ex-boyfriend, Theo, dies in a drowning accident, his universe implodes. Even though Theo had moved to California for college and started seeing Jackson, Griffin never doubted Theo would come back to him when the time was right. But now, the future he’s been imagining for himself has gone far off course.
To make things worse, the only person who truly understands his heartache is Jackson. But no matter how much they open up to each other, Griffin’s downward spiral continues. He’s losing himself in his obsessive compulsions and destructive choices, and the secrets he’s been keeping are tearing him apart.
If Griffin is ever to rebuild his future, he must first confront his history, every last heartbreaking piece in the puzzle of his life.
I haven’t read ‘More Happy Than Not’ yet because it hasn’t been in stock in any of my local book stores, but I’m hoping that both books will be in stock when this is released. I’m sure it will be heartbreaking and emotional, but none the less I’m keen and bean!
King’s Cage – Victoria Aveyard
In this breathless third installment to Victoria Aveyard’s bestselling Red Queen series, allegiances are tested on every side. And when the Lightning Girl’s spark is gone, who will light the way for the rebellion?
Mare Barrow is a prisoner, powerless without her lightning, tormented by her lethal mistakes. She lives at the mercy of a boy she once loved, a boy made of lies and betrayal. Now a king, Maven Calore continues weaving his dead mother’s web in an attempt to maintain control over his country—and his prisoner.
As Mare bears the weight of Silent Stone in the palace, her once-ragtag band of newbloods and Reds continue organizing, training, and expanding. They prepare for war, no longer able to linger in the shadows. And Cal, the exiled prince with his own claim on Mare’s heart, will stop at nothing to bring her back.
When blood turns on blood, and ability on ability, there may be no one left to put out the fire—leaving Norta as Mare knows it to burn all the way down
Even though I didn’t love ‘Glass Sword’ as much as ‘Red Queen’ I’m still looking forward to this one. There was so much action and drama in the last book, and I’m sure that there is a lot more to come. Is this a trilogy or is there more books?
Be sure to comment below what release you’re looking forward to in 2017. See you tomorrow for day 9!
